.When does registration open?
.More info on 2018-2019 coming soon.
.I cannot attend the parent meeting. What do I do?
.Contact Carlisle Jones ASAP. Attendance at these meetings is required.
.Is there a high school class?
.We work hard to provide both a middle school and high school class. If at least 4-5 high school youth register, we will provide a high school class. The high school class meets when their schedules allow-which may include some Saturdays or Wednesday classes.
.Do I have to be baptized before I go through Confirmation?
.No. Every year we have several students who were not baptized as infants. This simply means that on April 7th you will be baptized and confirmed.
.Is the Opening Retreat really required? My child has _____ that day.
.Yes. It is required.
.I’ve been asked to be a Faith Friend. What does that mean?
.First of all, it’s a huge compliment! This means that youth values your spiritual leadership. It means you must pass a background check and attend Safe Sanctuary training. During Confirmation, being a Faith Friend means praying for your confirmand, encouraging him/her, attending an event they participate in (soccer, play, etc) or spending time together outside church. It also means you will help out with the reception following the Confirmation service. Check out this Faith Friend Brochure for more info.
.Does my Faith Friend have to attend FFUMC?
.It is not required but encouraged that you Faith Friend attend FFUMC. The only requirement is that your faith friend be an individual who is actively practicing his/her faith and therefore can be an acceptable role model for your child. Your Faith Friend is up to you, but whether that person attends FFUMC or another congregation, he/she must still take a background check and attend Safe Sanctuary Training.
.Do my service hours have to be done through FFUMC?
.NO. You simply must complete two service hours before Confirmation Sunday. Those can be done through the church like in the Giving Garden or Room in the Inn. They can also be done outside of the church like babysitting for free, doing yard work for someone who needs help, or with an outside charitable agency.
