THE CONFIRMATION EXPERIENCE

Make your faith your own.

The Confirmation Experience offers a wide range of opportunities for students to build relationships, engage with important topics and questions, and prepare for full membership in Franklin First UMC.

Classes cover important questions like: Who is God?  Who is the Holy Spirit?  The Sacraments. Sin. Salvation. And many more!

Field Trips to other churches offer students the opportunity to experience a variety of worship styles from different faith traditions.

WHAT HAPPENS IN CONFIRMATION

Youth meet regularly during the scheduled Confirmation time to learn more about what it means to be a Christian.

Cell Groups consist of 6-8 youth and 2 adults, are single gender (guys groups and girl groups) and have consistent membership throughout the Confirmation Program (the same kids and adults each week).

Cell groups will meet immediately following class time from 9:40-10:00 am. The time consists of three main elements.

1) Check In: Members share about how their week is going. They celebrate the good and support each other through the challenges.

2) Connect: Groups discuss provided questions. The questions are designed to help groups get to know each other and have a lot of fun growing in their relationships.

3) Pray: Members will have the opportunity to share prayer requests and pray for one another. Confirmation Students will get to practice praying in a smaller setting in order to gain experience and confidence.

Retreats offer students many opportunities for building friendships and to experience community. The Church can thrive only if its members are healthy and connected. We want every student to feel like they belong and have a strong support system at the church.

FAITH FRIENDS

Walking the Road Together

Each student secures an adult Faith Friend. This relationship is important to the confirmation experience. Faith Friends:

  • Pray for their friend.
  • Are an encourager.
  • Spend time with their friend.
  • Share their faith.
  • Are present.

The relationships fostered through confirmation often last for many years!
